What people expect from movies like DHOOM is nothing but fun! High-speed chases, daredevil stunts and a dash of some gravity-defying action is what the audience expects. Something which can set their adrenaline rushing. Throw in a sizzle of some dazzling ladies and one gets a dish crisp and yummy! DHOOM had these ingredients and the recipe just clicked with the audiences. DHOOM 2 does not disappoint on this front. There is more on the plate with DHOOM 2 as far as the action in the film is concerned.

DHOOM was more of a biker movie but DHOOM 2 has a lot more breathtaking action sequences. And they all have been very well designed by Allan-Amin. They get an able support from Nirav Shah and Vikas Shivraman who are spot on with their superb photography and Rameshwar Bhagat who has done a good job with some tight editing. A clear indication of how Bollywood is climbing a few notches higher with the technical wizardry just getting better and better!

And it’s the technical razzle-dazzle that saves the day for the movie which otherwise has a pretty ordinary script. There are a few blemishes here and there in the screenplay and some scenes look quite contrived and frail. The interrupting songs and dances just make it more irritating. We could have done without these songs as they are neither befitting nor do they keep lingering in your mind. As for the story, ACP Jai Dixit has another case on his hands. Only this time the thief who goes by the name of Mr. A (Hrithik Roshan) is smarter, suave and equipped. Mr. A is ‘the perfect thief’, to say it all. The action shuffles from the busy streets of Mumbai to the sultry locale of Rio De Janeiro. And yes Mr. A has a lovely lady partner too, the equally hip Sunheri (Aishwarya Rai).

The character in these kind of movies are more superhuman than human, Jack of all and master of everything! They fear nothing, operate eye-popping gadgets, ride bikes at a speed of 100 light years/s and are capable of pulling out any damn stunt in the world . The same bunch of go-getters we have here too. Performance-wise Hrithik is brilliant. The two ladies do their job with sincerity while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra are their usual selves. DHOOM had brought two names into the limelight, director Sanjay Gadhvi and music director Pritam. While Gadhvi does a fine job here, Pritam disappoints. The music does not impress.

Go and catch this flick on a lazy Sunday afternoon. It makes a good popcorn flick and has a few catchy moments. Watch out for the classy action sequences and the chemistry between Hrithik and Aishwarya, which is appealing to say the least!
