J P Choksey signs Tanveer Khan

While the risk factor and the fluctuations in the business have dissuaded most distributors from continuing with the business, a number of veteran distributors who called the shots at one point of time are now looking at production as a lucrative business option. After Nizam distributor Farhad Nathani who signed Ajit Pal to direct a film and Delhi distributor Tolu Bajaj, who makes his production foray with son Sachin Bajaj's directorial debut, it is the turn of veteran C.I. distributor, J P Choksey, to venture into production.
Choksey has signed director Tanveer Khan to direct the first film for his banner, Prachi Films. The film is a thriller and Choksey is currently said to be finalizing the lead pair for the film. Choksey who has also written the scripts of a few films admits that he had been considering the idea of getting into production for a long time now. "However, I was waiting for the right time and the right subject to make a beginning," he says.
