Mahesh Manjrekar's one- act film STRUGGLER, which was held up in the censors for almost one year, has been finally cleared by the Tribunal with minimal cuts. Manjrekar had reportedly completed the shooting of the film in eight days flat in mid-2004 but the Censor Board suggested major cuts for the use of abusive language in the film, which affected the continuity of the film. Manjrekar then approached which in turn suggested additional cuts. Not one to give up, he decided to approach the Tribunal and ensure that the film got its due. It did take some convincing at the Tribunal but Mamjea finally managed to make his point. The Tribunal then suggested minor cuts and cleared the film. Manjrekar was supported in his endeavor by his producer Sheel Kumar, who patiently waited while he battled it out with the Censors. Sheel Kumar will now release the film in July or August. Incidentally, Manjrekar has two other big films lined up for release in the coming few months, one of them being Amitabh Bachchan's VIRUDDH and the second one being the Sanjay Dutt starrer, LIFE HO TO AISI.
