Both Balki and Apoorva Lakhia would have reasons to smile as box office counters open today across the country. Reason? Their films would be completing 50 days today.
When CHEENI KUM released 7 weeks back, not many were vouching for this film directed by Balki to stay on for so long across the country. Nevertheless, it has been sheer wonder that in spite of an average opening, this Amitabh Bachchan-Tabu starrer has consolidated its position over the weeks.
On the other hand Apoorva Lakhia too should be mighty pleased with the kind of fantastic initial that SHOOTOUT AT LOKHANDWALA took. Not just that the film had good collections to boast, it also went on to do good business over the weeks, hence resulting in turning out to be a certified box office HIT.
Incidentally even SOAL has Big B in a small but important role. This makes it a double whammy for the 60+ actor who would next be seen in tentatively titled RAM GOPAL VERMA KI AAG as Lallan/Babban/Gabbar.
