A good movie can survive amidst competition - Vikram Bhatt

"Agar picture achchi ho to ek saath chaar bhi chal jaati hain. Aur agar nahi chalni ho to solo release bhi nahi chalti. Last week SPEED ka haal nahi dekha? (If a film is good, even four would run together. And if it has to fail, it would even if it is a single release. Didn't you see the fate of SPEED last week?)", quips an amused Vikram Bhatt whose production debut MUMBAI SALSA arrives amidst competition in the form of JAB WE MET, NO SMOKING and to a lesser extent BAL GANESH.
"On a serious note, good films can co-exist. Didn't DIL and GHAYAL come together and become super-hits? And everyone knows about LAGAAN and GADAR. It's a matter of creating a good product and be confident about it."
But doesn't he feel that JAB WE MET is a mighty enough competition. In the last three weeks, the film's promotion has scaled great heights and seems to be the first choice of cine goers. "The very fact that you are asking me this question means that my MUMBAI SALSA is being noticed. At least it is being considered to be in the running with JAB WE MET. It's a victory in itself. But is anyone even talking about NO SMOKING? Now that says it all," concludes Vikram.
