HALLA BOL V/s MNIAG: Interesting clash in the offing

Though the general impression is that the Santoshi-Devgan project, HALLA BOL will decimate E Niwas's MY NAME IS ANTHONY GONSALVES, but the battle is unlikely to be as one sided as is being perceived.
As per trade and distribution sources, the lavishly mounted HALLA BOL will definitely be a stunning movie, but the people associated with the film have not upped the publicity ante, though just a few days are left for its release. Even the good situational music by Sukhwinder Singh has not made much of an impact. There were talks of publicity through street theatre, but not much has been heard about it.
On the other hand, Sahara One Motion Pictures have gone on a publicity blitzkrieg for their project, MY NAME IS ANTHONY GONSALVES. The leading lady of the film, Amrita Rao has been on a hurricane tour of the country to publicize the movie. Even the music has started catching on. The ploy of highlighting publicity gimmicks like saying that MNIAG is based on Shah Rukh Khan's life has got the fans of the top Bollywood star curious.
Another factor that cannot be ignored is the small comedy film, RAMA RAMA KYA HAI DRAMA, which has caught the fancy of a lot of cinegoers with its clever little promos and hilarious one liners by the versatile Rajpal Yadav. And that may just sneak through amidst the battle between HALLA BOL and MY NAME IS ANTHONY GONSALVES!
Well, we sincerely hope that Santoshi-Devgan and in particular the producer, Abdol Samee Siddiqui is listening and will do the needful.
