Do not let our headline confuse you, as it was just a humorous comment by a senior and much respected filmmaker to one of the most promising young directors of our times, Anubhav Sinha. Those who are still not getting it, we are talking about an anecdote that took place, earlier this week, at the Siri Fort Auditorium where the Osian's Cine Fan Film Festival is being held from 10th -20th July.
Anubhav Sinha, famous for big budgeted multistarrers like DUS, CASH and the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan project, is not known to frequent film festivals, most of which screen off-beat cinema. However, Sinha is now entering the festival circuit via his assistant Maqbool Khan's KABOOTAR, which was premiered at the Osian's Cine Fan (17th July) to a great response.
Well, as soon as director Sudhir Mishra (HAZARON KHWAISHEIN AISI, CHAMELI and KHOYA KHOYA CHAND etc.) saw Anubhav Sinha entering the VIP lounge of New Delhi's Siri Fort Auditorium, the senior director said "Anubhav, tumhari price gir jaayegi!" Actually, when Sudhir Mishra saw Anubhav, he made this remark in order to pull his young colleagues's leg and also as a welcome-to-the festival-circuit gesture. Anubhav, a man of good upbringing, one who respects his seniors, got the joke and appreciated Mishra's sense of humour and laughed back.
While on Sudhir Mishra, he is at the festival for MUMBAI CUTTING, as he has directed one of the ten stories in the film.
