From Kareena and Kangana to Avantikka

What's the common factor between Kareena Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut and Avantikka? Well, at one point of her time in their respective career, they have worked with veteran film maker Pahlaj Nihalani who is the man behind blockbusters like AANKHEN, SHOLA AUR SHABNAM, AAG HI AAG, PAAP KI DUNIYA and ILZAAM amongst others.
Responsible for giving Govinda and Chunkey Pandey quite a few successful films in their respective careers, Nihalani too was witness to a slump in fortunes as his subsequent films like DIL TERA DEEWANA, BHAI BHAI and ULJHAN couldn't work at the box office. Final nail in the coffin was the failure of TALAASH...THE HUNT BEGINS (2003) which bombed in spite of starring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in the lead.
Not to loose hope, he went on to launch an unknown face by the name of Kangana Ranaut way back in 2004. Named I LOVE YOU BOSS, the film couldn't move beyond its launch and Nihalani took a long sabbatical.
However, 4 years after I LOVE YOU BOSS, Nihalani is resurfacing with KHUSHBOO where he takes upon the responsibility of launching two new faces - Rishi Rehan and Avantikka. Not just that, he also gives a break to new talent in the form of Rajesh Ram Singh who would be making his directorial debut.
A romantic comedy cum drama, KHUSHBOO is releasing today along with DE TAALI and HAAL E DIL. No wonder, the veteran film maker along with his fresh bunch of actors and director would be keeping their fingers crossed to see how their 'fragrance of love' spreads amongst the audience in days to come!
