Contrary to media reports about Ajay Devgan not being happy with Rajkumar Santoshi over the failure of their latest venture, HALLA BOL, the mutual admiration, affinity and the strong bond between the master actor and the talented director is very much intact. And it was evident with Santoshi making it a point to wish Devgan success when the music of Ajay's directorial debut venture, U, ME AUR HUM was launched in Bombay, a while back.
Coming to their next ambitious project, based on the life of Emperor Ashoka, the project is ready to take off, now that another historical, Ashutosh Gowariker's JODHAA AKBAR has clicked both commercially and critically.
In fact, when Santoshi was asked whether his movie would have romantic touches like JODHAA AKBAR, he nodded in the affirmative. He added that there would definitely be moments of the emperor's personal life, but the focus will not be totally on romance, unlike JODHAA AKBAR.
As per the tentative schedule, the Ajay Devgan and Bipasha Basu starrer is likely to go on the floors this July.
