While it's known news that Emraan Hashmi along with director Kunal Shivdasani visited bookies en route to the preparation for his role of a bookie in JANNAT, he also has an interesting anecdote to share about his experience.

Apparently, Emraan realized that not just bookies are a superstitious lot, they also sometimes bet on every ball being bowled, especially in India.

"Seriously, I was surprised to see how there was 'mol-bhaav' happening for every delivery being bowled", exclaims Emraan with mouth wide open, "Ok, so I was aware that apart from placed bets on a country winning or loosing, bookies also carefully observed the half centuries and centuries being scored and wickets being taken. However, I was shocked to know that in some cases, there were bets on the expected result of every single ball being bowled."

Apart from being shocked, he was also amused by the behavior of certain bookies. During his visit to an actual location where betting was in progress, he had a first hand account of body language and other mannerisms of bookies. "Oh my God, they are such superstitious people", laughs Emraan, "Of course with lakhs of rupees being placed on betting, they are bound to be worried about their 'investment'. Still, I could see how jittery one of them got when a friend of his entered the room while the match was on."

He adds on with an amused expression, "He could have killed him with his stare since he was perturbed by the entry of another person when the proceedings were going in his favour. These people just don't want to leave the place where they are sitting or the way they have positioned themselves in front of the TV."
