''Ramu made film makers out of us'' - Wilson Louis

Though a few people are still taking pleasure out of Ramu bashing, even as his SARKAR RAJ is carrying excellent reports, there are some who still swear by the film maker. Wilson Louis, the man behind HO SAKTA HAI and soon to be released LONAVALA KHANDALA GHAT and KAALO is one such man.

"How can we suddenly forget all the contribution he has made to India cinema", says an exasperated Wilson who is looking at making a fortune out of horror movies, "Forget SATYA and COMPANY, we keep talking about these movies all the time. Let's talk about films like RAAT and BHOOT. Ok, so RAAT may have had its flaws but don't you see that Ramu pushed the envelope with this horror flick."

When released, this Revathy starrer had crashed at the box office which had prompted Ramu to remake it a few years later into BHOOT.

"Sometimes you should see the technical expertise of a film maker more than just the story", argues Wilson, "Remember the camerawork in RAAT? It was so engaging. I still remember the eerie effect that the film had on me for so many days after I saw it. The entire technical finesses in the film is something that we should be learning from."

Getting nostalgic, Wilson adds, "There were horror movies in the past by Ramsays and to be on the fair side, they did what they could do best with the limited technical resources available. On the other hand it was Ramu who took it all forward with RAAT and BHOOT. He did justice to the horror genre."

"To be honest, I seriously believe that it is someone like Ramu who has shaped career of film makers like me. There is so much to learn from him and I feel it is utterly baseless to ridicule him time and again just because he takes it all with a smile", concludes Wilson.
