Ram Gopal Varma is amused that his latest film AGYAAT is being compared with his very own JUNGLE (2000) that had released close to a decade back and was a moderate box office success. Starring Fardeen Khan, Urmila Matondkar, Sushant Singh and Suneil Shetty in principal roles, it had a 'jungle' background to it with Sushant Singh's character based on Veerappan.

''Add to that the entire hostage drama angle'', Ramu pitches in, ''I am surprised that just because there are trees and a lurking fear down the corner in AGYAAT, it is making some out there begin comparing it with AGYAAT. It makes sense if we just talk about the setting but from the genre, plot and treatment perspective, these are two different films. While JUNGLE was a hostage drama, AGYAAT is an adventure thriller.''

CHECK OUT: AGYAAT-The primordial fear from the element of unknown

Ok, point taken. So how was the idea of AGYAAT born?

''Actually I have wanted to do something like this for a long time now'', he states, ''I wanted to set my film in a situation where there are different kind of people stuck together and someone is trying to kill them all. I thought whatever would this creature be, won't it lead to more fear factor and make things further interesting if it is not seen at all? How would it be to play with audience's imaginations? I knew that technically it would be quite a challenging task since the central force in your film isn't visible at all! But then I thought that let me just experiment and hence ended up making AGYAAT'', details Ramu.
