After the super success of the music of LOVE AAJ KAL and KAMINEY, it was quite a lull musically in the month of July. The only shining spot was Sachin-Jigar's stupendous soundtrack in TEREE SANG, which boasted of some excellent songs like 'More Saiyaan', 'Maula' and 'Rab Mileya' amongst others.

Thankfully, the month of August has been quite eventful though with a variety of albums hitting the stands. While there has been quite some quantity in store, thankfully even quality wise there is a lot in the offering, most notably being just released WHAT'S YOUR RAASHEE?.

For Harman Baweja, this is good news indeed because while VICTORY was universally panned, both from the film as well as music perspective, there were not too many who took home the music of LOVE STORY 2050. In this regard, he can be rest assured that there would be quite some accolades coming on the way of composer Sohail Sen who has put together as many as 13 songs for WHAT'S YOUR RASHEE?. Songs like 'Jao Na', 'Pyaari Pyaari', 'Bikhri Bikhri', 'Sau Janam' and the title song 'Pal Pal' would make sure that music lovers have a lot to pick and choose from.

CHECK OUT: DIL BOLE HADIPPA Music Review

DIL BOLE HADIPPA too delivers what it promised. Pritam does complete justice to the setting he was explained for this Yash Raj Films and in DIL BOLE HADIPPA, he not just came up with a potential chartbuster in the title song, but also a foot tapping track like 'Discowale Khisko' which should find it's way to the dance floors. Guest composer Joshilay's 'Gym Shim' only adds more value to the album.

Surprise of the month though was Akbar Sami's FAST FORWARD. One did expected a decent soundtrack from the film, but what one gets to hear are a bunch of tracks (Taali Bajao, Aankhon Ki Baat, Tum Jo Mile) that may not turn out to be chartbusters in isolation but collectively lend FAST FORWARD some good respectability. Now future of this album would solely depend upon how far the film manages to leave an impact at the box office.

WANTED is for hardcore fans of Salman Khan and is overall a mix affair which still finds itself in the safe zone, courtesy at least a couple of numbers that should find good popularity in weeks to come. While 'Love Me Love Me' and 'Ishq Vishq' are bound to be lapped up by the Salman Khan fans, even 'Tose Pyar Karte Hai' would find good response in the interiors of the country. Yes, 'Le Le Mazaa Le' is an absolute disappointment while 'Jalwa' isn't any great shakes. Still, 'Dil Leke' makes the proceedings a little sober while the signature tune of 'Most Wanted Track' should keep the audiences entertained.

Other than these high profile albums, there was also Monty's FOX, which made a quiet entry into the stands. Well, it would have a rather quite exit too; courtesy an uninspiring soundtrack that hardly has much going for it to be noticed. In a way it isn't really painful, considering the fact that since there were no expectations, there is no major disappointment either. While the music isn't really the kind that would make audiences interested in the film, it now has to be seen how FOX turns out to be when watched on screen.

In the past couple of decades, film maker Indra Kumar has given chartbuster scores for quite a few of his films like DIL, BETA, RAJA, ISHQ and MANN. He won't really be seeing a similar response though for DADDY COOL which is an okay album that is not designed as a musical in any case. Still, with the kind of setting that the film has, DADDY COOL was supposed to be high on energy and stay vibrant for it's short duration and in that aspect it does decently, especially with the title song doing fairly well.

And then there are fringe scores like CHAL CHALEIN, MOHANDAS, RUSLAAN and SHADOW, which really don't have in them the magic to give them a second hearing.
