Arshad Warsi: Film's title is related to my character

When a film is titled SHORTKUT - THE CON IS ON, an immediate question that comes to the mind is - 'Why a title like this?' Arshad Warsi replies.
''Well, if you ask me, both the key words in SHORTKUT - THE CON IS ON are connected to my character. How exactly? Let me explain. See, my theory in the film is that whatever be the case, just try to find everything through a shortcut! This is what Raju really believes in because though he wishes to become a Bollywood star, he doesn't believe in any kind of training to fine tune his craft. All he wants is to become a star, that's it'', laughs Arshad.

And how about the CON part? Where does this come into picture?
''The entire conning thing is about the route that he takes to forge his way into becoming a star. He steals the script of his writer-director friend Akshaye Khanna and goes on to benefit from it in a big way. His conning game doesn't end here because in spite of being a real bad actor, he goes on to become a star. Quite surprising, isn't it, for a man jisse koyi kaam dhandha aata nahi hai par bas duniya bhar ka stylemaarta hai or attitude dikhata hai'', explains Arshad.
He adds with a wink, ''It's actually a dangerous combination when you become something big in spite of not being actually capable of reaching those heights. This is what he does by applying a shortcut in life and conning people.''
