Efforts on to bring KITES & 3 IDIOTS this year!

The last quarter of 2009 had the average cine-goer ecstatic with expectations. The reason was the probable release of three of the most anticipated movies of the last couple of years. They were Hrithik Roshan's international project KITES with Spanish star, Barbara Mori, Shah Rukh Khan reuniting with Kajol, after eight years for Karan Johar's MY NAME IS KHAN and last but not the least, Aamir Khan teaming up for the first time with Kareena Kapoor for the iconic MUNNABHAI series director Rajkumar Hirani's 3 IDIOTS.
However all that was before the multiplex versus producers-distributors face off threw the release schedules haywire. Unfortunately all the three above mentioned biggies got hit. Till about 2-3 weeks back, reliable section of the trade told us that all the three movies namely, MY NAME IS KHAN, 3 IDIOTS and KITES had been postponed and will now release only next year.
However, there is no need to despair because as per the latest input from our reliable trade and distribution sources, efforts on war footing are on to release Rakesh Roshan's KITES and Aamir Khan's 3 IDIOTS in 2009 itself. They also inform us that the third project, MY NAME IS KHAN has no chances of preponing to 2009 as Karan Johar has already announced the February 2010 release plans of MNIK, even before he left for the San Francisco schedule of the film a couple of months or so back.
All the same here's sincerely hoping that both KITES and 3 IDIOTS hit the screens this year itself and end it on a high note.
