Nakul Vaid. Does the name strike a bell? You can't be blames if your answer is 'No'. After all he isn't someone who has enjoyed a flamboyant journey in Bollywood in spite of the fact that he has been around in the industry for close to 6 years now.

Making a modest beginning in a small role in BAGHBAN, he made quite some impact in AB TAK CHAPPAN where he was seen along with Nana Patekar. He came back with Nana again in YATRA but the film could barely survive a weekend at the box office. Even more saddening is the fact that he was also a part of CHAK DE INDIA (where he played Vidya Malvade's husband) but never got noticed for his act.

So why are historic details around Nakul being brought here? That's because it's a pity that in spite of the fact that we have a talented actor amongst ourselves, he isn't quite getting a right platform for him to perform. And when he does eventually get a right platform in the shape of MOHANDAS, the marketing is absolutely zilch, promotion non-existent, awareness zero and pitching quite poor. What further saddens you as a film enthusiast is the fact that the film by itself is quite well made which means that MOHANDAS seeing a release like this is not just disappointing but also a glaring case of a missed opportunity.

Nakul's MOHANDAS is honest and rooted with the ambience, setting, language, milieu and the characterization just right to go with the realistic treatment that it requires. Add to that an earnest performance and you feel that Nakul indeed deserved much better. Here is hoping that film makers do wake up to this good talent in the offering!
