February concluded with the release of Crazxy, a gripping thriller directed by Girish Kohli. Starring Sohum Shah, the film was expected to capture significant attention but faced a lukewarm response at the box office. On its opening day, Crazxy made Rs 1 crore, and in the first three days, the film’s total earnings didn’t exceed Rs 4 crore. Despite the subdued growth, it managed to maintain a decent hold, especially considering the competitive landscape with other films like Superboys of Malegaon and Chhaava still running in theaters.

Box Office Decline on Day 4

The momentum took a hit as the business declined on the fourth day. After a promising start, the earnings were expected to drop significantly on Monday. It was estimated that the film would earn between Rs 45 lakh to Rs 55 lakh, marking a stark contrast to its opening weekend figures. The sudden drop could be attributed to the minimal growth seen earlier in the week, which failed to generate sustained interest.

Challenges and Opportunities Ahead

In order to be considered a success, Crazxy will need to gross at least Rs 15 crore. This would require strong box office performance over the next 2-3 weeks. The film has garnered positive reviews from both audiences and critics, but it has struggled to convert that praise into significant earnings. A crucial factor that could boost its revenue is the non-theatrical market, where it could still generate substantial income.

As Crazxy continues its run in cinemas, its ability to maintain audience interest and perform well in its second week will determine its fate.
