Deva’s dream run continues! Shahid Kapoor’s movie remains unbeatable on Day 7

Rosshan Andrrews’ directorial Deva, starring Shahid Kapoor, has completed a week in theaters but is struggling to make a mark at the box office. Released on January 31, 2025, the action thriller has not performed as expected, with collections dipping consistently. On Day 7, the film is likely to earn Rs 15 lakh less than its previous day’s collection, which was around Rs 1.85 crore. Despite its slow run, Deva remains the top-performing Hindi film at the box office, with Sky Force trailing behind.

Produced by Zee Studios and Roy Kapur Films, Deva is currently in its final stretch as the most preferred Hindi movie before new releases shake up the market. The arrival of Badass Ravi Kumar, Loveyapa, and the Sanam Teri Kasam re-release on February 7, 2025, will further impact its collections.

In its first week, Deva has amassed over Rs 27 crore. However, this number falls short compared to Shahid Kapoor’s previous releases. His 2024 romantic sci-fi drama Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya had a stronger opening week, collecting Rs 43 crore and earning a semi-hit status. On the other hand, *Jersey* (2022) performed even worse than Deva, managing just Rs 17 crore in its first week and turning out to be a disaster.

A remake of the 2013 Malayalam thriller Mumbai Police, Deva also stars Pooja Hegde and Pavail Gulati in pivotal roles. The film marks Rosshan Andrrews’ directorial debut in Bollywood. However, despite an intriguing storyline and Kapoor’s intense performance, Deva has failed to attract significant footfall in theaters. With upcoming competition, its box office future looks uncertain.
