Hanuman Ansh has recorded a major turnaround at the Indian box office. The devotional drama delivered its biggest collection of the run on the Raksha Bandhan holiday, earning Rs. 6.25 crore nett on its 4th Friday. The film witnessed a huge 228 per cent jump compared with the previous day, taking its total collection in India to Rs. 17.70 crore nett.
The strong growth has changed the box office picture for Hanuman Ansh. After struggling during its first two weeks, the film has now found a new audience and is showing much stronger performance in its third and fourth weeks. If the momentum continues over the weekend, the film could add another significant amount to its total.
Hanuman Ansh is expected to perform strongly on Saturday and Sunday as well. If the film maintains its current pace, its total could reach around Rs. 25 crore by the end of its 4th weekend. With this turnaround, the movie has emerged as a Clean Hit at the box office.
The journey has been particularly surprising because Hanuman Ansh started its theatrical run on a very low note. The film opened with just around Rs. 10 lakh nett and finished its first week with approximately Rs. 90 lakh. Its second week was even weaker as Independence Day releases took away a large part of its screen space.
However, the devotional drama made an unexpected comeback in its third week. It collected more than Rs. 10 crore nett during the week, changing its box office position completely. The film has now become stronger than it was during its initial weeks.
