Hanuman Ansh has turned into one of the biggest box office surprises of 2026, crossing the ₹100 crore net mark in India on its 31st day in theatres. The Vishal Chaturvedi directed devotional spiritual drama, based on the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, had reached ₹99.38 crore net by the end of Saturday after collecting ₹16.50 crore on Day 30. On Sunday, the film added enough business to officially enter the ₹100 crore club. Indian Express reported the film at ₹100.20 crore net after ₹82 lakh had come in during the early part of Day 31.
The film has continued to gather momentum through Sunday. According to Sacnilk, Hanuman Ansh had added ₹9.74 crore net on Day 31, taking its India net total to ₹109.12 crore. Its corresponding India gross is being tracked at ₹128.90 crore. These Day 31 numbers are live estimates and the final collection for Sunday is expected later tonight.
What makes the run remarkable is where the film started. Hanuman Ansh opened in theatres on August 7 with just ₹10 lakh on Day 1 and finished its first week at ₹1.08 crore. The second week brought only ₹40 lakh, making the film look like a quiet theatrical release with limited prospects. The turnaround came later, with the third week bringing in ₹10.40 crore and the fourth week exploding to ₹61 crore.
The film has therefore followed a very unusual box office curve. Instead of opening big and declining, Hanuman Ansh built its business gradually through audience word of mouth and then found a much larger theatrical audience several weeks into its run.
The film was reportedly made on a budget of around ₹2 crore, although the exact production cost has been described differently across reports. That makes the ₹100 crore India net milestone even more significant from a return on investment perspective.
The performance has also continued despite fresh competition from Mirzapur: The Movie, which opened nationally on August 4 September? and has taken up a large share of the available theatrical footprint. Hanuman Ansh has nevertheless maintained strong occupancy in its fifth week, showing that its audience is not behaving like a conventional late running release.
For now, the cleanest trade figure is that Hanuman Ansh has crossed ₹100 crore net in India and is already tracking beyond ₹109 crore net on Day 31 as of Sunday evening, with final figures still awaited. The bigger story is that a film which began with ₹10 lakh on opening day has transformed into a genuine long run theatrical success through sustained audience demand.
