Alia Bhatt is set to make a strong return to the big screen with Jigra, scheduled for release on October 11, 2024. Following her success with Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, anticipation is high for this action thriller, co-starring Vedang Raina.
Advance bookings have commenced, with early signs indicating decent interest, particularly in key markets like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, and Bengaluru. As of noon, Jigra has registered pre-sales of 3.36 lakhs gross for its opening day, with around 1,340 tickets sold across 251 shows. Rajasthan has emerged as the best-performing circuit, contributing 57K from 19 shows, followed by Bihar (46K), Madhya Pradesh (40K), and Maharashtra (50K). Approximately 5% of the shows are already filling fast.
Given Alia’s impressive track record with recent hits like Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR, and Brahmastra, expectations are high for Jigra. The film’s success will largely hinge on word-of-mouth, which could drive further spot bookings.

Directed by Vasan Bala and produced by Dharma Productions and Eternal Sunshine Productions, Jigra will face competition from Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri’s Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and the much-anticipated Vettaiyan, featuring Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan. With such a strong lineup, it will be interesting to see how Jigra performs at the box office!
