Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar, has taken the box office by storm since its release on February 14, 2025. Marking Utekar’s return to direction after two years, the film is a historical action drama based on the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Adapted from the Marathi novel Chava, the film stars Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna in leading roles. Produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, Chhaava is proving to be a massive hit, attracting large audiences and generating impressive collections.

Box Office Success and Growth Potential

As of Day 12, Chhaava has amassed a remarkable Rs 341 crore at the box office, with expectations to cross Rs 350 crore on Day 13. The film is expected to experience a 5-15% growth on Maha Shivratri, which falls on Day 13, potentially boosting its earnings further. On Day 12, the film collected Rs 18 crore, and with the festive season underway, it is poised to continue its strong performance. Industry experts are forecasting that Chhaava will end its theatrical run with an estimated total of over Rs 550 crore.

Vicky Kaushal’s Career Milestone

Chhaava has already become Vicky Kaushal’s highest-grossing film, surpassing his previous blockbuster, Uri: The Surgical Strike. The actor’s powerful performance in this historical actioner has earned him widespread acclaim, and his collaboration with director Laxman Utekar has been well received by audiences. Utekar, known for his previous hits like Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and Luka Chuppi, has crafted another winner with Chhaava.

Unfazed by Competition

Despite competition from other releases like Mere Husband Ki Biwi, Chhaava remains unaffected and continues to dominate the box office. Vicky Kaushal’s next project, Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and co-starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, is highly anticipated.
