Mirzapur: The Movie has continued its strong run at the Indian box office, with the film recording another major jump on its third day. The Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi and Divyenndu starrer earned around Rs. 35 crore nett on Day 3, which was a 35 per cent increase compared with the previous day. With this collection, the film finished its opening weekend with Rs. 91.50 crore nett in India.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, Mirzapur has performed particularly well in the Delhi UP circuit. The film has recorded strong occupancy across several major centres in the region. Its performance during the opening weekend has placed it in the successful category, while its final box office status will depend on how well it performs during the weekdays.
One of the major reasons behind the film’s strong performance is the positive response from audiences. Good word of mouth has helped the movie maintain momentum throughout the opening weekend. If this trend continues during the weekdays, Mirzapur could remain steady at the box office and improve its overall collections further.
The film, however, is facing competition from Hanuman Ansh, which has also been performing strongly. Hanuman Ansh has continued its impressive run during the same period. Despite the competition, both films are currently finding their own audiences because they appeal to different sections of moviegoers. This could allow both releases to continue their box office journeys at the same time.
The day wise collections show a clear upward trend for Mirzapur. The film collected Rs. 25.00 cr. on Friday before increasing to Rs. 31.50 cr. on Saturday. The Sunday collection saw another jump, reaching Rs. 35.00 cr. This brought the total opening weekend collection to Rs. 91.50 cr. nett.
The strong Sunday performance is particularly important because it shows that the film was able to attract more audiences as the weekend progressed. The coming weekdays will now determine whether Mirzapur can maintain the same pace.
The film has also performed well internationally. Globally, Mirzapur collected more than Rs. 132 crore during its 3 day opening weekend, adding another strong figure to its overall box office performance.
