Sky Force, released on January 24, 2025, is the latest aerial action thriller in cinemas. Directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani, the film is based on India’s first airstrike and stars Akshay Kumar, Veer Pahariya, Sara Ali Khan, and Nimrat Kaur. While the movie has been praised for its gripping action sequences and patriotic theme, it appears to be underperforming at the box office.
Backed by Jio Studios and Maddock Films, Sky Force has completed nine days in theatres. The film has earned ₹90 crore in its first eight days and is expected to touch the ₹100 crore mark in its second week. Despite its strong subject matter and star cast, the film’s overall theatrical performance remains underwhelming.

The Republic Day holiday, which coincided with the third day of its release, gave Sky Force a significant boost, recording its highest single-day earnings. However, this momentum hasn’t translated into sustained success. With Deva currently being the most preferred film of the week, and upcoming releases like Badass Ravikumar, Loveyapa, and Chhaava set to enter the market, Sky Force faces stiff competition.
Despite receiving positive word-of-mouth, the film is unlikely to be classified as a theatrical success. Reports suggest a discrepancy between the numbers shared by the producers and the film’s actual trend at the box office. Realistically, Sky Force may only collect around ₹50 crore net in India by the end of its run.
While Sky Force had the potential to soar high, its box office trajectory indicates that it will conclude as an underwhelming performer despite its patriotic appeal and strong action sequences.
