Scarlett Johansson’s Jurassic World: Rebirth, helmed by Gareth Edwards, is having a strong run at the Chinese box office. In its second Wednesday, the sci-fi extravaganza added USD 2.4 million to its kitty, showing only an 11% fall from Tuesday’s figures. The movie is now closing in on the USD 50 million mark, with its current Chinese box office collection reading USD 49.6 million after only eight days of theatrical run.
Relative to other recent Hollywood offerings in China, Jurassic World: Rebirth has displayed better traction. Though Aquaman 2 had collected USD 1.8 million and Venom: The Last Dance had collected approximately USD 2.4 million on their second Wednesdays respectively, Rebirth still remains steady. The movie is expected to witness an increase in collections further over the coming weekend.
Spectacular Box Office Performance in India
The movie is also doing a good business in India. It opened with Rs 8.25 crore on the first day and crossed Rs 35.50 crore during its opening weekend. It continued building momentum from Monday to Wednesday, adding Rs 11.75 crore, with Day 6 adding Rs 3.50 crore.
