Irumudi box office: Ravi Teja’s film races towards Rs. 200 crore after another big Sunday

Irumudi has reached Rs. 196 crore in India after 17 days, with a 40 per cent Sunday jump taking Ravi Teja’s film closer to Rs. 200 crore.

Irumudi continued its strong run at the Indian box office on its third Sunday. The Ravi Teja starrer collected Rs. 8.50 crore, recording a 40 per cent increase compared with the previous day. With this growth, the film finished its third weekend with Rs. 21 crore gross. Its total theatrical collection in India has now reached Rs. 196 crore gross in 17 days.

The film is now just Rs. 4 crore away from entering the Rs. 200 crore club in India. Based on its current performance, Irumudi could reach the milestone by Tuesday or Wednesday. Reaching this figure would be another major achievement for the film, especially considering Ravi Teja’s recent films did not connect strongly with audiences.

The film has also maintained a strong position in the Telugu states. Its running collection in its home market has reached Rs. 176.75 crore. Irumudi is still aiming to cross the Rs. 200 crore mark in the Telugu states, although the target is not as certain as it appeared to be last weekend.

Only seven films have crossed Rs. 200 crore gross in APTS so far. Most of those films achieved the figure with increased ticket prices. Baahubali 2 is an exception in this comparison, although it also had increased ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh. The ticket prices that were considered increased in 2017 are now close to the regular ticket prices seen today.

If Irumudi reaches Rs. 200 crore without increased ticket prices, its footfalls could be higher than those of several other films that have crossed the same box office mark.

The day wise India collections show a steady performance. The film earned Rs. 107.00 cr. in Week One and Rs. 68.00 cr. in Week Two. During its third weekend, it added Rs. 6.50 cr. on Friday, Rs. 6.00 cr. on Saturday and Rs. 8.50 cr. on Sunday, taking the total to Rs. 196 cr.

The territorial breakdown shows Rs. 176.75 cr. from AP/TS, including Rs. 83.75 cr. from Nizam, Rs. 23.75 cr. from Ceded and Rs. 69.25 cr. from Andhra. Karnataka contributed Rs. 14.25 cr., while the Rest of India added Rs. 5.00 cr.
