Vidaamuyarchi’s Box Office struggles continue! Ajith Kumar fans left worried

Ajith Kumar’s latest movie, Vidaamuyarchi, starring Trisha Krishnan, Regina Cassandra, and Arjun Sarja, has hardly made an impact at the box office. Directed by Magizh Thirumeni and produced by Lyca Productions, the movie opened with decent numbers for the first weekend but dropped thereafter.

Following a good extended first weekend gross of Rs 61 crores in Tamil Nadu, Vidaamuyarchi struggled to close to the Rs 70 crore mark. The film had a steep drop on the first Monday and is still unable to recover. In an early estimate, another low day is predicted, although final numbers will be updated later based on evening and night show occupancies.

An Underwhelming Run In Theatrical Release

If things do not improve, Vidaamuyarchi will end its run at the theaters in a lousy fashion. Expected to do well, the movie will finish its Tamil Nadu collection under Rs 100 crore gross, and all this for a big-budget release. Unlike stereotypical South Indian mass entertainers, Vidaamuyarchi opted for a different approach; it is a remake of the Hollywood film Breakdown (produced by Paramount Pictures). Unfortunately, both the audience and critics remained indifferent to the film, resulting in its lackluster performance.

Ajith Kumar’s Next: Good Bad Ugly

Ajith Kumar is poised for a comeback with Good Bad Ugly, directed by Adik Ravichandran. Scheduled for release on April 10, 2025, fans are hopeful that this film will meet expectations and deliver a box-office hit. It remains to be seen how Ajith’s next outing pans out for him.
