The trailer for Akshay Kumar’s highly anticipated patriotic film Sky Force has released, promising an engaging tale that is based on India’s retaliatory airstrike on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani war. Debutant Veer Pahariya will share the screen space with Akshay, alongside Sara Ali Khan, Nimrat Kaur, and Sharad Kelkar.
The trailer begins with a devastating attack by the Pakistan army on an Indian Army base, resulting in heavy casualties. While politicians advocate restraint, Akshay’s IAF officer, KO Ahuja, convinces them to retaliate. What follows is India’s first-ever airstrike, with Akshay’s character leading the operation.
Veer Pahariya portrays Captain T Vijaya, an audacious pilot with reckless determination. This made his colleagues refer to him as a “madman.” The scene changes when Vijaya goes missing, creating panic and sadness. When the government does not wish to launch a search mission, Ahuja puts relentless pressure on the authorities to bring Vijaya home.
Emphasis is laid through the trailer as to how emotionally strong, Vijaya’s wife is placed in her abiding faith as she hands Ahuja. His powerful patriotic instances include a thumping declaration given to Pakistani authority proclaiming India fully prepared to deliver a retaliation and in one great scene, tribute is paid about Vijaya bravery by Ahuja as his being “mad”.
Sky Force is Abhishek Kapoor’s directorial debut, which marks the launchpad for Veer Pahariya as an actor. This film packs action sequences like a sizzling high-octane, heavy drama, and emotional depth together for a potential contender in the patriotic genre.
It’s another attempt from Akshay Kumar after patriotic blockbusters Kesari and Mission Mangal. The last significant film of Indian Air Force-themed was the below-average hit, Fighter starring alongside 2024 stars. Box office performance can’t be assured yet, however. This is because it’s releasing on 2 October, 2025.
