India’s freedom struggle has often been told through the stories of its biggest leaders, but Nikkhil Advani’s The Revolutionaries focuses on a group of young people who chose a dangerous path to fight British rule. The trailer of the period drama series was released on August 26 and gives a glimpse into their journey, struggles and sacrifices.
The series stars Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Gurfateh Pirzada and Pratibha Ranta in key roles. They portray Rash Behari Bose, Sachindra Nath Sanyal, Bagha Jatin and Pratibha Lahiri. The story is based on Sanjeev Sanyal’s book Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom.
The trailer introduces four young revolutionaries who come together with one common aim, to free India from British rule. Their fight takes them through secret plans, dangerous situations, confrontations and moments where they have to make difficult choices. The story also looks at the personal side of their lives as they face the risks that come with their fight for freedom.
Action plays an important role in the trailer, with gunfights, chases and tense encounters adding to the period setting. At the same time, the series focuses on the people behind these historical events and the sacrifices they were willing to make. Jason Shah plays General Dyer, who is shown tracking the revolutionaries as their activities become a growing challenge for the British Empire.
The Revolutionaries has been directed and created by Nikkhil Advani and is produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under Emmay Entertainment. The writing team includes Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh, Akshita Wadhwana, Shobhit Narang and Rutvi Mehta.
Paoli Dam and Tota Roy Chowdhury are also part of the cast in important roles. The series will be available in Hindi, along with dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali.
The Revolutionaries will begin streaming on Prime Video from September 11, 2026. The series brings lesser known stories of India’s freedom struggle into focus through the experiences of young revolutionaries who chose to directly challenge British rule.
