Bollywood star Ananya Panday recently had a light-hearted exchange with her veteran actor father Chunky Panday when she mockingly teased his fashion sense. During an interview with Vogue, Ananya termed his style as “a little weird” but humorously claimed to wear his clothes at times. “Your fashion sense is questionable, but I wear your clothes sometimes,” she said while pointing out how close they remained despite their similarities.
A Unique Father-Daughter Bond
While discussing their relationship, Ananya revealed that she and her father have contrasting approaches to acting and films. “We are very different from each other in terms of films and are also different kinds of actors, but we connect through the films we both like,” she shared. The pair likes to watch commercial Bollywood movies together, such as Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017). Though there are sometimes disagreements over script decisions, Ananya respects her father’s opinion and enjoys the independence he provides her to learn from her own mistakes.

Ananya Panday’s Next Movie with Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan
Professionally, Ananya Panday will be seen sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan in the much-awaited film Kesari Chapter 2. The film, which was announced by Karan Johar in 2024, is being made by Dharma Productions and will be directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. The film is inspired by The Case That Shook the Empire, a book written by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat, about lawyer C. Shankaran Nair’s struggle against British occupation following the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in the 1920s.
Release Date and Casting Details
Initially set to hit theaters on March 14, 2025, Kesari Chapter 2 will star Akshay Kumar as C. Shankaran Nair. More information regarding characters played by R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday remains unknown so far. Kesari Chapter 2 is presumed to be a suspenseful historical drama that illustrates India’s pursuit of justice.
