The evening’s spotlight went to Bollywood’s popular superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Making his highly anticipated Met Gala debut, Khan was the first Indian male actor to ever grace the event. Styled in a bespoke black outfit by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, SRK appeared regal and effortlessly chic. He complemented the look with gold accessories, a brooch, and a bold pendant in the shape of the letter “K” a reference to his moniker, King Khan. A shiny walking cane with a tiger-head grip added to the theatrics. Sabyasachi accompanied Khan on the carpet, further heightening the moment’s importance for Indian fashion.
Priyanka Chopra Returns in Style
Seasoned Met Gala visitor Priyanka Chopra Jonas attended the event for the fifth time, drawing attention in a statement polka dot suit dress created by Olivier Rousteing for Balmain. Famous for her acerbic fashion instincts, Chopra finished the outfit with sparkling Bvlgari high jewellery. Global superstar Chopra was joined by husband and musician Nick Jonas, following in their tradition of Met Gala power couple moments.
