ZARINE KHAN |
You are being talked about your looks that resemble closely with Katrina Kaif? How do you take such comparisons?
I am honored to be compared to Katrina Kaif. I’m a simple girl who’s trying to make her presence felt at the box-office and comparisons like this are nothing but compliments. But, to tell you the truth, when I look in the mirror I can’t see the Katrina in me.
Tell us about your first film VEER. How did you get this role?
“I can’t see the Katrina in me…” |
So, do you have any filmy background given the relative ease with which you were offered this film?
I have no filmy connections at all. I was modeling because I had to sustain my family. I consider it my destiny and good luck that such a big film was offered to me. Smiles.
Oh! It was a dream come true for me. I have always been a big fan of Salman Khan and once when I met him for the first time I asked for an autograph to which he smiled and said that I am the heroine of his next film. Even, while working on VEER, Salman Khan has been really a wonderful co-star. He has helped me without any hassle whenever I was in need of help. He’s not only my co-star but a mentor too.
Tell us about your role in the film VEER? What kind of preparations did you do for your role in the film?
My role is that of a princess in VEER. I had to do a lot of research for my act and even put on some weight to look the part. Before my modeling days I used to weight more than 100 kilos and I had to really work hard to look like a model. But, while playing my character in VEER I was told to gain a few more kilos. Initially, I was hesitant, but the director of the film Anil Sharma Ji wanted me to look the part. I was put on chocolate diet to gain weight to fit into my character.
