Ajay Devgn is ready to play his legendary role as Vijay Salgaonkar in the much-awaited Drishyam 3. The suspense thriller, which has gone on to become one of Bollywood’s highest-grossing and most beloved franchises, is gearing up for its third and last chapter. Producers Kumar Mangat and Abhishek Pathak have reportedly locked the shooting calendar for the movie.
Filming Commences on Gandhi Jayanti 2025
As per industry sources, Drishyam 3 goes on the floors on October 2, 2025, with Gandhi Jayanti, a date that also holds symbolic significance in the story of the series. “It’s a three-month marathon schedule, with shooting happening across actual locations in Maharashtra and at set,” the source disclosed. Ajay Devgn has already blocked dates for the film, making the production schedule smooth.
Release Date and Cast Information
The producers are targeting a Gandhi Jayanti release on October 2, 2026. The script has been locked and the team is working on refining the dialogue draft. The fans can anticipate the entire cast of Drishyam coming together for this one, wrapping up the suspenseful journey of Vijay Salgaonkar. The movie will again be directed by Abhishek Pathak.
Remake or Fresh Story?
It is not known if Drishyam 3 would adopt the Malayalam version’s plot or take an original route. “A final decision will be made by the end of July,” the source added.
Ajay Devgn’s Busy Calendar
Ajay Devgn will first do Total Dhamaal and Ranger before starting Drishyam 3. He has also scheduled Golmaal FIVE and Shaitaan 2 in 2026, apart from a number of unannounced projects that are in the works.
