Ajay Devgn is ready to play the iconic role of dashing income tax officer, Amay Patnaik, yet again in highly anticipated Raid 2. Ajay posted the poster of the new film on social media platforms, thrilling followers with his reprisal for a role which made a dent in the initial film. Directed by Rajkumar Gupta, Raid 2 is scheduled to release in theatres on May 1, 2025. Devgn tagged the poster with, “Naya Shehar. Nayi File. Aur Amay Patnaik Ki Ek Nayi Raid,” making people curious about the new adventure and excitement in store for them in this sequel.
An Action-Packed Sequel
After the success of the first Raid, which was inspired by a true-life income tax raid in the 1980s, Raid 2 is set to take the audience on another thrilling, adrenaline-pumping ride. The first film was inspired by the longest raid in Indian history, where income tax officials carried out a 72-hour-long operation on a strongman, Sardar Inder Singh. This time, Raid 2 guarantees a new story with a new location, filmed extensively in Delhi and Lucknow, promising another gripping experience.
Delayed Release and Star Cast
Although Raid 2 was initially expected to hit screens in November 2024, the film went through some delays and will now release on May 1, 2025. The movie also features Riteish Deshmukh, Vaani Kapoor, and Saurabh Shukla in prominent roles along with Ajay Devgn. The movie is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar. It is being released by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with Panorama Studios.
