Few Indian celebrity couples are as much loved and followed as Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. Their Italian fairytale wedding, cozy family life, and endless public appearances make them one of India’s most beloved couples. But at one point, a romantic act by Virat turned into a comedic national TV joke—courtesy Amitabh Bachchan.
In 2018, Anushka was a guest on Kaun Banega Crorepati with Varun Dhawan to promote their movie Sui Dhaaga. She also accompanied a contestant on the hot seat during the episode, when Big B chose to lighten the mood with his signature wit.
Big B’s Playful Banter
Amitabh initially asked the contestant if she ever watched cricket. Upon her negative reply, he playfully indicated towards Anushka, making the audience wonder. Anushka confessed that she did watch cricket—because of her husband Virat. Soon, Amitabh retorted, “Kewal unko dekhne ke liye? (Just for him?)”, which made the studio erupt in laughter. Anushka smiled and reassured that she watched the whole team as well.
The fun escalated when Amitabh mimicked Virat Kohli’s famous flying kiss, a gesture the cricketer often sends Anushka after scoring a century. The audience erupted in laughter, Varun Dhawan couldn’t control his giggles, and Anushka herself was left blushing and laughing at the adorable moment.
Virat and Anushka’s Family Life
Virat and Anushka got married in December 2017 in Tuscany, Italy. The couple since then has been doting parents to two kids—daughter Vamika, who was born in 2021, and son Akaay, who was born in 2024. Ever the celebrity couple, however, the couple has been careful to keep their kids away from the spotlight, urging fans and photographers to leave their children alone and respect their privacy.
Couple’s London Outing
The couple has been seen recently in London, having some alone time together. They were seen walking casually, greeting their fans, and basking in the summer sun. In contrast to their typical family excursion, on this day the couple was seen without children, having a laid-back day out.
Their Professional Journeys
On the work front, Anushka was recently seen in Zero (2018) with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Her return project, Chakda Xpress, set in the life of cricketer Jhulan Goswami, had been much anticipated but has been allegedly dropped.
