But news has it that her visit has been delayed amid the growing tensions between India and Pakistan. Bhatt, who was to feature in the opening ceremony as a beauty brand ambassador, decided at the last moment to withdraw considering the current war and its effects.

In a poignant letter posted by Alia Bhatt on social media, she spoke about the bleak reality of a war-torn nation. The actress wrote about the deep silence and fear that has engulfed the nation following the current conflict. In her emotional post, Alia honored the sacrifices of soldiers who guard the country, putting their lives at risk so others can sleep peacefully. She wrote:
“The past few nights have been. different. There’s this stillness in the air when a country catches its breath. And for the last few days we’ve experienced that stillness. That tense quiet. That thrum of tension that reverberates beneath every conversation, behind every news alert, around every dinner table. We’ve felt the burden of understanding that somewhere, out there in the hills, our soldiers are wide awake, paying attention, and at risk. While most of us are snuggled in our houses, there are men and women standing in the dark, guarding our sleep with their own. With their lives. And that truth. it gets to you.”
Alia’s post showed the courage and strength not only of the soldiers but of the silent waiting mothers who know their children go through uncertain nights in danger and tension.

Cannes Festival and Dress Code Restrictions
The Cannes Film Festival, which commenced officially on May 13, will last until May 24. Although Alia’s absence has been noticed, the festival goes on with the same pomp and grandeur, though under some new rules. This year, the festival authorities have made certain dress code prohibitions, such as a ban on nudity on the red carpet and other parts of the festival. Additionally, outfits with voluminous designs particularly those with large trains are prohibited, as they can hinder the flow of guests and complicate seating arrangements in the theaters.
