Hera Pheri, one of Bollywood’s most beloved comedy cult classics, is set to celebrate 25 years of its release later this month on January 31. Starring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty, the film has a dedicated fanbase and continues to be cherished for its memorable dialogues, iconic performances, and witty humor. As re-releases of iconic films have become a trend in recent years, fans have been eagerly wondering if Hera Pheri will also make a return to theaters. Producer Firoz A. Nadiadwallah recently spoke to Bollywood Hungama about this possibility.
Will There Be a Re-release?
When asked about the chance of re-releasing Hera Pheri, Nadiadwallah explained that the decision wouldn’t be made by him alone, despite being the film’s owner on paper. He emphasized that Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty are just as much a part of the film’s legacy. Nadiadwallah stated, “We’ll jointly take the decision,” expressing confidence that whenever they decide to re-release it, the comedy film would create a “storm at the box office.” Reflecting on the film’s lasting appeal, he also pointed out that Hera Pheri and its sequel Phir Hera Pheri have achieved a cult status, especially in the world of memes, without any conscious effort to keep the film alive.

Remembering Neeraj Vora’s Contribution
Nadiadwallah also credited writer Neeraj Vora for much of the film’s charm, noting how his wit and approach to dialogue delivery made Hera Pheri timeless. He recalled Vora’s meticulous attention to detail, where he would carefully observe every shot and ensure that the actors delivered their lines with the right tone and timing. Vora’s control over the shots and his hands-on approach to the actors’ performances were key to the film’s success.
Hera Pheri 3 On the Horizon
Earlier this year, Priyadarshan officially announced Hera Pheri 3, with the original cast of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty returning for the new installment, sparking even more excitement among fans of the iconic comedy franchise.
