The January 16, 2025, attack on Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence has left everyone deeply concerned, from his family and fans to the entire film industry. It was a very early morning hour that saw an armed intruder face Saif’s house help, leading to a very violent confrontation when Saif intervened to defend his family and staff. The actor suffered multiple injuries, including a critical wound to his thoracic spinal cord, and was immediately rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery. Surgeons successfully removed a 2.5-inch knife from his spine and treated a spinal fluid leak. Saif is now stable but remains under close observation in the ICU.
After the attack, Kareena Kapoor Khan, wife of Saif, was also given police protection. A viral video shows Kareena leaving sister Karisma Kapoor’s house with police protection for Saif’s hospital visit. Later, there is a photograph of Kareena outside Lilavati Hospital going to be by her husband’s side. These increased security arrangements are reflective of the seriousness of the situation and the need to ensure her safety in the disturbing circumstances.

The house helper also got injured in the attack; she was injured with cuts to her wrists and hands as she tried to fend off the assailant. Amidst this traumatic incident, Kareena released a statement asking for privacy for her family and asking the media and paparazzi to give them space at such a trying time.
This has triggered lots of sympathy with Saif, as his friends and colleagues offer him words of encouragement, with the wish of seeing him go back to good health. Investigations are still under way as regards the attack to ensure that the perpetrators are served justice.
