In Bollywood, the real story often extends beyond the movie to the chemistry or lack thereof between co-stars. While off-screen relationships frequently make headlines, sometimes they leave fans more puzzled than excited. A pair currently under scrutiny for their off-screen dynamic are Loveyapa co-stars Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor. The film, set to release on February 7, has been generating buzz, not for their performances, but for their awkward rapport during promotional events.

A series of viral paparazzi videos have shown the duo smiling for the cameras but with very little visible chemistry between them. Netizens have compared their interactions to that of a tired older sister and her younger brother rather than a romantic couple. In one particularly awkward moment, Khushi is seen instructing Junaid to remove his backpack before posing for photos in a way that feels more motherly than professional. Junaid, meanwhile, seems visibly uncomfortable, as if he’s unfamiliar with being in the spotlight.

This has led many to speculate about their off-screen dynamic, with some commenting that Khushi appears more natural in the limelight, while Junaid seems out of place. One user noted, “He’s not making half the effort she’s at promotions. She seems a natural and will take off like her sister!” Others have suggested that this might be Junaid’s last movie in this genre, given his awkwardness.

Another video, where the two are seen dancing together on stage, only added to the confusion. Despite the somewhat awkward promotional moments, the trailer for Loveyapa has generated interest. It’s worth noting, however, that in the trailer, there are very few scenes where Junaid and Khushi share significant screen time together, making their real-life lack of chemistry not too surprising. The film marks the debut of Khushi Kapoor, daughter of the late Sridevi, and Junaid Khan, son of Aamir Khan. Both have previously made their debuts in OTT projects—Khushi in The Archies and Junaid in Maharaj. Fans will have to wait and see if their on-screen chemistry fares better than their off-screen interactions.
