The Bhangra Paale Incident
The incident was a source of laughter as it happened while shooting for the song Bhangra Paale. Shah Rukh Khan clarified that both he and Salman Khan were not properly getting the dance steps done. Mamta Kulkarni, however, was acing her own bit. The moment the director yelled “cut” and seemed to be happy with the take, Mamta was displeased. She whistled and called the Khans to the scene. Shah Rukh Khan was the one to approach her, and she scolded them for not rehearsing their steps before the shoot, insisting they weren’t doing it properly. Shah Rukh revealed that nobody had ever scolded him like Mamta Kulkarni did that day.

Her reputation was tarnished when she was associated with accused drug lord Vicky Goswami. Recently, Mamta was in the news when she turned spiritual. She went back to India and became a Sadhvi during the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025. Her spiritual life, however, turned controversial too when allegations cropped up that she had paid Rs 10 crore to become Mahamandaleshwar. Mamta countered the allegations and said she took a loan to pay Guru Dakshina and was facing acute financial difficulties.
