Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow have unveiled the official teaser of Nayyi Navelli, giving audiences a first look at the upcoming fantasy family entertainer. Starring Yami Gautam Dhar in the lead role, the film combines family drama, humour, fantasy and action. Directed by Balaji Mohan, Nayyi Navelli is written by Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma, with music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar. The film is produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma.
The teaser begins by introducing what appears to be an ordinary family. However, things quickly take an unusual turn when the brother in law makes a shocking accusation about his sister in law, saying, “bhabhi daayan hai” (sister in law is a witch). The statement immediately creates confusion and sets the family on an unexpected path.
What follows is a series of unusual situations involving eccentric characters and strange events. The teaser does not reveal the complete story, but it suggests that there is much more happening within the family than what appears on the surface. Yami Gautam Dhar is seen in a different avatar, adding to the mystery surrounding her character and the events taking place around her.
The central question raised by the teaser is what is actually happening inside this family. The accusation against Yami’s character appears to be the starting point of a larger chain of events involving fantasy, humour and action. The film seems to explore a world where things may not always be what they look like.
Nayyi Navelli features a large ensemble cast alongside Yami Gautam Dhar. The cast includes Addinath M Kothare, Anurag Thakur, Sunita Rajwar, Mita Vashisth, Aaditya Kulshreshth, Susmita Mukherjee, Sonal Jha, Suneel Sinha, Prateek Pachori, Akshat Singh, Babita Pandey, Ajay Pal and Neeraj Singh in pivotal roles.
The film marks a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios and Colour Yellow and is scheduled to arrive in theatres across India ahead of Dussehra. Nayyi Navelli will release on October 16, 2026, bringing its fantasy based family story to cinemas during the festive period.
