Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, has opened up about his alleged fallout with Sara Ali Khan’s mother, Amrita Singh. He described the experience as one of the darkest periods of his life and claimed that it had a major emotional impact on him. In an interview with Pinkvilla, Orry spoke about what he says happened in 2021. He said, “Back in 2021, Amrita Ali Khan traumatised me. It was a lot. It was a bit, I was like a bit, I don’t think I have been through something like this. It was a very low dark time in my life like she really put me through hell.”
Orry explained that although people around him told him that the difficult period would eventually make him stronger, he did not initially understand why he needed that kind of strength. He later felt that the experience had changed the way he dealt with difficult situations.
He said, “When I moved and got out of it, people were like you will get through this stronger. I was like ‘I don’t need that much strength.’ Like who needs that much strength in their life. Then I realised nothing really affects me anymore. Like, nothing really makes me sad.”
According to Orry, the experience also prepared him to deal with criticism after he became a public figure. He said that the emotional difficulties he faced earlier meant that negative comments and online hate did not affect him in the same way.
“I think the trauma I went through then actually made me strong enough that when I became a public figure, then amount of hate I used to get initially it never affected me.”
When asked to explain what exactly happened between him and Amrita, Orry chose not to share specific details. He said, “Honestly bad things happen to bad people. I am gonna leave it to that.”
Orry has not publicly explained the exact reason behind the alleged fallout. However, he has spoken about the issue before. In a January 2026 interview with Hindustan Times, he said that maintaining a friendship with Sara Ali Khan would mean pretending to be comfortable with the “trauma” he claims he experienced because of her mother.
Orry also said he would be willing to move past the matter if Amrita apologised. As of now, the exact circumstances surrounding their alleged fallout remain unclear, with Orry continuing to keep the details private.
