Actress Poonam Pandey recently spoke about her soulful experience in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, the place where millions of devotees come to get a dip into the holy waters of Ganga during the Shahi Snan. In some pictures and videos, Poonam captured the spiritual essence of the grand event and her involvement in this holy ritual.
Dressed in a black printed shirt with ‘Mahakal’ written all over it a variant of Lord Shiva accompanied by the word of ‘Jai Mahakal’ and the ‘Om’ sign, Poonam reminisced about her great experience with the hour. She had doused herself in the Ganga and afterwards did Suryanamaskar as part of her rituals. Besides these pictures, she had also uploaded images of another devotee applying haldi and sandalwood paste on her forehead as a ritual and a form of seeking God’s blessings. In such a light, actor Bajpayee shared some scenes of the massive crowd of Shahi Snan, which was indeed a sight to behold. Thousands gathered there in order to perform the ritual and cleanse themselves in the holy waters.

Poonam enjoyed the experience, soaking in the vibrant energy of Mahakumbh. She recorded clips of the crowd, the boat rides, and even the revered evening aartis by the ghats. However, amidst the celebrations, tragedy struck. The massive crowd led to a stampede, resulting in injuries and loss of life. Reflecting on the tragic incident, Poonam expressed her sorrow, praying for the departed souls to attain peace and moksha.
In her touching caption, Poonam wrote, “Mahakumbh… Witnessing life up close, where a 70-year-old walks barefoot for hours, where faith knows no limits. Feeling deeply for those who lost their lives, hoping they find moksha. The devotion here has left me speechless…” She described the experience so vividly that it has touched the hearts of her followers.
