Actress Preity Zinta recently visited the Mahakumbh Mela for the third time, an experience she described as magical and heartwarming. However, her visit didn’t go unnoticed, as she faced criticism from a section of social media users who took issue with her flying in a private jet and receiving VIP treatment. Some people pointed out the disparity between her luxurious travel experience and the struggles of the common man, accusing her of flaunting her privileged lifestyle.
When I’m with my kids, I barely go on social media or check my phone cuz I want to be a present mom & give them my full undivided attention. I also don’t want to set a bad example for them by always being on the phone, so I miss a lot of what’s happening on X and don’t feel… https://t.co/vWiEaJd1DU

In response, Preity took to social media to address the trolls during an “Ask Me Anything” session on X (formerly Twitter). One user asked why her innocent Kumbh photo had triggered such a strong negative response. Preity, unphased, replied, “People that try to pull you down are already below you, so who cares about them and about trolls and spineless keyboard cowherds.” She added that true strength lies in making a positive impact on the world and one’s environment rather than engaging with negativity.

Focus on Family and Fake News
When asked how she reacts to negative news or posts on social media, Preity shared that her priority is being a present mother to her children. “I barely go on social media or check my phone cuz I want to be a present mom & give them my full undivided attention,” she explained. Preity also emphasized her intolerance for fake news, stating she is “seriously allergic” to it
This was my third time at the Kumbh Mela & it was magical, heartwarming & a bit sad.
Magical because no matter how hard I try, I cannot explain how I felt.
Heartwarming because I went with my mom & it meant the world to her.
Sad, because I wanted to be liberated from the various… pic.twitter.com/Y2rdAmVRgT— Preity G Zinta (@realpreityzinta) February 26, 2025
Spiritual Reflections on Kumbh Mela
In her post about the Kumbh Mela, Preity shared deep spiritual reflections, stating that while the visit was magical and humbling, it also brought feelings of sadness as she confronted the duality of life and attachment. “Am I ready to let go of my family, my children & the people I love? No!” she wrote. Despite the criticism, Preity’s focus remains on her personal journey of growth and spiritual exploration.
The Mahakumbh Mela, which concluded on February 26, 2025, saw millions of attendees, including several other celebrities such as Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, and Raveena Tandon.
People that try to pull you down are already below you so who cares about them & about trolls and spineless keyboard cowherds. Real guts is when you try & make a positive change around you & your environment and make the world a better place for others and for yourself. https://t.co/W1C9sU0pAr
