The Queen has arrived! Rashmika Mandana’s Maharani Yesubai look will give you goosebumps

The much-awaited historical-action drama Chhaava has released the first look of Rashmika Mandanna as Maharani Yesubai, wife of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The film is directed by Laxman Utekar and stars Vicky Kaushal in the title role of the Maratha warrior king Sambhaji Maharaj. The Maddock Films production, helmed by Dinesh Vijan, promises an immersive cinematic experience rooted in Maratha history.

Rashmika has played Yesubai as the woman of unmatched strength and elegance, symbolizing the pride of Swarajya. This is Rashmika’s first historical role, and the transformation has already generated excitement among fans. The makers said, “Behind every great king, there stands a queen of unmatched strength.”

Known for his intense performances, Vicky Kaushal will be seen in his first full-fledged historical action film, showing the bravery and legacy of Sambhaji Maharaj. Earlier posters showed his commanding presence, and the makers have teased a story filled with valor and the spirit of the Maratha warrior who carried the essence of the four natural elements earth, fire, water, and air.

Set based on Shivaji Sawant’s acclaimed Marathi novel of the same name, Chhaava explores Sambhaji Maharaj’s legacy, who was the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The grandeur of the film has been increased as the music is designed by AR Rahman. Thus, it will be a soulful and powerful background to the story.

The trailer of the film will be out on Wednesday, creating much buzz before its Valentine’s Day release on February 14, 2025. This will also be the first on-screen collaboration between Rashmika Mandanna and Vicky Kaushal, adding to the excitement among the audience. With its historical depth, stellar cast, and breathtaking visuals, Chhaava is all set to be a cinematic spectacle celebrating Maratha history and heritage.
