After his next movie Sikandar, Salman Khan will be starring in Battle of Galwan, a tense war drama based on true events on the India-China border. The intense first look of the movie, with Salman bloodied and battle-scarred, was released last weekend and created a buzz with the fans instantly. Although the rest of the cast remained under wraps, it has now been officially announced that actress Chitrangda Singh would be doing the lead opposite Salman, their first on-screen encounter together.
Director Apoorva Lakhia Confirms Casting
Apoorva Lakhia directs the film, a maverick and potent storyteller. Lakhia was thrilled to cast Chitrangda, complimenting her performances in Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Bob Biswas. “We are thrilled to have Chitrangda Singh join the cast. She has an unusual mix of strength and vulnerability that will sit well with Salman Sir’s intense quietness,” Lakhia revealed.
Sources from the production revealed that Lakhia was searching for an actress who could portray emotional depth, resilience, and vulnerability. He was particularly struck by Chitrangda’s natural poise and grace in candid photos at India Gate qualities that aligned perfectly with the character’s essence.

A Film Inspired by Real Events
Battle of Galwan borrows from the traumatic events of June 2020, when Indian and Chinese troops fought in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley. United by military accords banning guns, the clash turned into a vicious hand-to-hand combat, which has been one of the deadliest border clashes in decades.
The movie is set to be an emotionally and patriotic tale of courage in the face of extreme adversity. Salman Khan will be in the lead, while Chitrangda Singh will bring new energy to the cast. Battle of Galwan will be among the most highly awaited movies of the year. It will start shooting later in 2025.
