A viral picture about New Year circulated showing Shah Rukh Khan, his wife Gauri Khan, and son Aryan Khan praying before Mecca on the holy spot has been branded fake. A source reported the image to have been made artificially through Deepfake or some sort of AI as stated by the news agency, NDTV. Social media did believe that was real; even then, in fact, thousands pointed out in social media discussions that it’s very likely this was AI made.
Gauri was depicted wearing a black kurti and a grey hijab, pictured smiling at Shah Rukh, who looked serious in a white kurta. Behind her stood Aryan in another white kurta, all of whom were set against the backdrop of Mecca. This picture was interesting due to its depiction of the Khan family at a religious place, but the authenticity of it soon came under question.
On the chat show Koffee with Karan in 2005, Gauri had discussed her views on religion, where she had expressed that she admired Shah Rukh’s faith in Islam, but would never change her faith. She maintained that people should be given freedom to follow their respective religions without disrespecting the other’s religion. The couple has been married since 1991 and have three children, Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam.
In terms of professional updates, Aryan Khan is set to make his directorial debut with a Netflix India series titled Stardom, which focuses on the inner workings of the Hindi film industry. Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri’s production company, Red Chillies Entertainment, is behind the project, which will star Bobby Deol and Mona Singh. Shah Rukh, however, is busier as preparations for the upcoming release of a crime drama King by Siddharth Anand go underway and he will join his daughter, Suhana, onscreen. It has a release next year.
