Though they scripted some of Bollywood’s biggest of hits like DEEWAR, ZANJEER, SEETA AUR GEETA, MAJBOOR, YAADON KI BAARAAT, etc before penning down SHOLAY, it was Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra starrer SHOLAY which earned Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan the star-writers status and interestingly it is SHOLAY’s 3D version which has brought back the duo together, who had split after 15 years of long successful association. Indeed, SHOLAY has been a landmark film for everyone attached to it, well literally!

Salim-Javed, who for 26 years were not in talking terms, burying their hatchet, came together to launch the trailer of SHOLAY in 3D. Though they reconciled their relation with ZANJEER remake controversy, it was SHOLAY 3D, which got the twosome together professionally. And now that the two renowned veteran writers have joined hands again, the film industry is extremely upbeat about this amalgamation!
Interestingly, at the trailer launch, producer Boney Kapoor was also present, whose 90s superhit film MR. INDIA was Salim-Javed’s last film together, post which they had an infamous split-up. Now that Boney Kapoor is up to make the sequel of MR. INDIA, we wonder if he is contemplating of getting the duo on board once again!
Well, as Salim and Javed have come together, expect the blockbuster era of cinema to be back!
