Her sister-in-law Kareena Kapoor Khan just played a journalist in SATYAGRAHA. Now it is Soha Ali Khan’s turn to play one in India’s first ever war comedy, WAR CHHOD NA YAAR. With this, she also joins the elite company of actors who have played media professionals in some of the recent films.
‘Ranbir Kapoor played a photo journalist in YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI. A few weeks back Nargis Fakhri was seen as a journalist in MADRAS CAFE. Last year Emraan Hashmi played a hotshot media personality in RUSH. The most memorable of all stays on to be Anil Kapoor’s role of a chat show host in NAYAK. Now Soha Ali Khan steps into the arena as well, albeit in an altogether different stage and setting,’ informs a source close to the actress.

Faraz Haider, who is making his debut as a director with WAR CHHOD NA YAAR feels that even though the characterisation is on comical lines, the very essence of a media personality has the power to change the world.
He says, ‘Soha plays a role of a journalist which is a key character in the film. Through her, we wanted to show that there is immense responsibility on the media in today’s times but at the same time it also has the power to make a real change. In my view, Soha has delivered a fantastic portrayal to the character.’
We look forward to that once the film with Sharman Joshi and Jaaved Jaaferi as the male protagonists releases all over on 11th October.
