The wait for Stree 3 is set to continue for some more time, but producer Dinesh Vijan has now revealed a timeline for the much awaited third instalment. Speaking at FICCI, Vijan confirmed that director Amar Kaushik will first complete work on Mahavatar before moving on to Stree 3. The upcoming horror comedy is expected to bring back Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, along with Akshay Kumar.
According to Dinesh Vijan, Amar Kaushik will begin filming Mahavatar in January 2027. The film stars Vicky Kaushal as Bhagwan Parshuram and is expected to complete its shooting by the middle of 2027. Once the work on Mahavatar is finished, Kaushik will move to the next chapter of the Stree franchise.
Stree 3 is expected to go on floors by late 2027. The makers are currently looking at a 2028 theatrical release, with Independence Day and Christmas being considered as possible release periods. The final release date has not been announced yet.
The third film will continue the story of the popular Stree franchise, which features Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the central roles. Akshay Kumar is also expected to be part of the upcoming film, continuing the connection established in the previous instalment.
